So we plan the drop before the saw ever starts. Where the tree leans, what is under it, how the equipment gets in, and where the brush and logs go when it is on the ground. Walk the property after the next hard blow. Most of what puts a tree on a roof shows up well before it happens, and it is a lot cheaper to deal with while the tree is still standing.

Our process

How a tree job runs

Same order every time, whether it is one tree in a back yard or a week of clearing. It keeps surprises off your invoice and off your roof.

  1. Walk the property with you

    We look at the tree, the lean, what is under it, and how equipment gets in. You get a straight answer on whether it is a job for us or one that needs a specialist.

  2. Plan the drop and the cleanup

    Where the tree goes when it comes down, where the brush gets stacked, and what leaves the property. Agreed on before anyone starts cutting.

  3. Clear the work area

    Vehicles moved, gates opened, and anything breakable pulled back. Most damage on a tree job happens to things that did not need to be there.

  4. Take the tree down

    Felled in one piece where there is room, or cut down in sections when there is not. Ropes and equipment as needed to keep it going where we want it.

  5. Grind the stump

    Ground out below grade so you can level the spot, spread soil, and seed it instead of mowing around it for the next ten years.

  6. Haul it off and clean up

    Logs, brush, and debris loaded and gone. We rake the area down and leave the yard usable, not covered in chips and limbs.

Property does not get overgrown in one year. A few saplings along the fence, a dead limb you keep meaning to deal with, a little more brush every summer. Handled early, most of it is an afternoon of work. Left alone, it turns into a clearing job.

Trim it or take it down?

Not every problem tree has to come out. Here is how we read it before recommending a direction.

Trimming or pruning is enough when
  • The trunk is solid and the tree is healthy overall
  • Only a few limbs are dead or hanging over the roof
  • The problem is clearance, not stability
  • Growth is crowding a drive, a fence, or a gutter line
  • The tree is worth keeping for shade or screening
Full removal is the right call when
  • The tree is dead or the top has already gone bare
  • It leans toward the house and the lean is getting worse
  • The trunk is split, hollow, or soft at the base
  • Roots are lifting the ground on one side
  • It keeps dropping limbs every time the wind picks up
